Michael Bucuzzo is a filmmaker and sound designer working in narrative, documentary, and experimental films. Notable credits include work on Ondi Timoner’s Mapplethorpe, Laurie Anderson’s Heart of a Dog, and experimental shorts with James Franco and Laurel Nakadate. Additionally, he was an editor on Alexandria Bombach’s On Her Shoulders, which received the 2018 Sundance U.S. Documentary Directing Award. Michael’s own films deal with the subject of human consciousness, and the infinite world beyond the physical realm. His work creates a living space in which the banality of life can be turned into the fantastic, where cracks in the ceiling or pipes in the floor become gateways to an unknown world, waiting for exploration.
